Restructuring Website
I feel a tad bit strange rewriting this because it’s only been a month, and I did a massive rework on the way the backend of my website works.
But in a very real sense, it doesn’t really matter. For anyone consuming this content, there is virtually no visual change. The font is slightly bigger, and there’s an extra tab and that’s about it. But from the perspective of actually using this tool, it’s completely different.
Having an actual tool underlying how the static webpage is generated is honestly amazing and I am mildly annoyed that I never tried this before.
I did gain some valuable experience trying to make my own static webpage generator since it did help me appreciate some of the design decisions which goes on behind Hugo’s software, along with the understanding that a lot of work had to be done to make all of this possible.
I would like to publish this theme eventually for others to use, as I do like the way it looks and functions (relatively speaking) but I need to clean up the code and potentially some of the workflow before I seriously consider publishing this.
